Three more new counties entered in the 2023 Otter tally, two sliders out of Lake County, one out of Bon Homme, and one out of Union. Lake County is a county removed from the Big Sioux River and Bon Homme in one the smallest of the Missouri River reservoirs (Lewis & Clark Lake) but it may not have been caught on the edge of that larger water. Union County has both the Big Sioux and the Missouri Rivers on its different sides. The season will probably get finished up this week.

I don't even want to tell you how many otters I've caught on the MO river bordering Bon Homme county, trapping from the Nebraska side of the river. Never set a trap for otter in my life, but a #1.5 coilspring will hold most all of them. Got tired of waiting on DNR to show up to witness release and quit calling. This was back when there were no otters. LOL
