Ohio, Old fart to some.
Caught a nice buck this morning. The only foot with no damage was in the trap.
One hind foot was missing entirely. The other hind foot was missing its toes. The front foot was missing its toe nails
It also had a bit of damage to the mouth area.
I'm thinking turtle. What's your thoughts?

Sounds like something pretty small,perhaps a water shrew.Sometimes a pack of them will eat the faces off beaver caught under the ice.

Unreal. It happened again. Caught another buck in the same set and it had one of its hind feet gone.
I'm thinking boco may be right.
If I don't catch another mink there hopefully whatever is doing this steps on my trap.

Voles or turtles if the water is warm enough and open. I got lots of turtle damage in Arkansas years ago trapping beaver in the warmer water and temps.

Bit cold for the turtles though you'll still see a few out. With as dry as it is, id vote for voles as well.
