Paul if you keep showing off those deer your area will be loaded with out of state hunters.

A year or two ago my youngest told me he shot a doe in low light in deep woods. After tracking it it was a spike with about 10 inch spikes. I have mistook them for a doe with 3 or 4 Inch spikes myself. At the end of the day thay ate just fine.

Not here. Visible antlers are defined as bony structures that protrude through the skin. Knobs or buttons covered by skin or velvet are not considered visible antlers.

3 inches seems reasonable enough it would be really easy to miss sub or even 1 inch spikes at any distance . then what if you only had doe tags left , call the warden and beg him not to take your license? or pretend it you couldn't find it and let it lay?

we know that happened here when we had earn a buck for a few years.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

No Pete you just shoot it in the head "to put it down" and that removes the antler section from the equation. Heard about a friend solving the issue that way. Got the story when I asked about the powder burn on the deers head from his muzzleloader.

Assuming you thought a doe, so what size was the deer you thought you was shooting? I was targeting larger does and got tired of trying to load them, so the last I shot I thought was a yearling doe. Apparently my eyes are getting worse cause she was just as big as the others.

Who is doing the taxidermy? I’d recommend Fishguts or Uncle Fester.

I thought it was a good sized doe. He was broadside with the single stub antler on that side, and I did not see it.

Weird! I shot one once that had one antler missing.
