basic shotgun made from 1936 to 1963
came with a modified choke , could be special ordered cylinder bore
no year specific numbers of production over the 27 year run the made a little over a million of them
I assume it has no SN# as most basic shotguns of the time didn't
glad you have your grandfathers gun back , it looks like a good gun to use a little and put on the mantle

Nice shotguns yall. I started out with pardner model 12 gauge. Still have that one. Hard to believe it's been around for close to 25 years now.

My dad grand dad and great grand dad were/are not hunters. I'm the first hunting generation I know of. But dad hot my great uncles house when it sold at auction. They had 3 auctions personal property ir furniture and antiques , farm stuff, tractors and a lifetime worth of farm things and then the sectioned up farm property auction. Dad got the house and 2 sections of the farm and I bought 2 more sections.
Months later dad sent me a picture of an old Springfield 12g pump he found in the furnace hot water heater room in the basement leanin on a stud inside the 2x4 wall. It was my great grandfather's only gun and that's where my uncle put it after he died . He had the action open and it had probably been that way and there for 20 to 30 years and the action was frozen open. I looked up the model and found an exploded diagram. Saw how it came apart iold it up and in a week had it apart back together and functioning.
I can't believe the auction company, nor all the people at the auctions missed it. I mean I caught people at the auction removing draws from furniture looking for hidden money in items that had sold but they were not the buyers of.
My uncle was from Switzerland and knew how to hid a gun in plain sight. And now I have my great grandfather's gun also. My grandfather had a .22 bolt gun. Dad has that. I took an interest in it as a kid and grandpa took it and had it re blued. His mom bought it for him when he was a kid.. I killed my first squirls with it. Unfortunately grandma was cleaning and moved it out of the way and droped it breaking the stock in half at the pistol grip. Someday I will work on fixing it or trying to find a new stock. But it is one a stock will be hatlrd to find for.
