I've got a campground property manager asking me to assist with some coons around some dumpsters. My plan is to use dogproofs set back away from the dumpster on the trails coming in. I'm usually trapping on my private property where public eyes and ears aren't an issue. Can someone PM me with some advice? I'm usually pretty loud on my property. I guess I could use cage traps and take them someone else temporarily, but I'd prefer to use dogproofs.

If you use quick links to anchor your dogproofs you can get a roll cage like coonhunters use to train pups and put the coons in them trap and all to transport somewhere else to dispatch. The whole end opens on them to aid in getting uncooperative critters inside easily.

1200 fps or faster air rifles would suit your needs with the ears. The eyes are more difficult to avoid.

Death ray or similar but probably going to be hard to avoid being seen whatever approach you take

I have put a 160 Belisle on one of those 4 foot mounts. I then use a teaser stick to get the coon to paw at that stick and then dispatch. Works well for me.

If you’re trapping dumpster coons, set DP’s after dark check and check in the dark. If you’re looking to make it quick. Set after dark…check about midnight and take care of the first caught and reset and then go back before daylight to dispatch and pull sets until that evening.
Had a buddy that had a contract with a fast food company about pressure washing. The coons were so bad around the dumpsters he was worried about one of his employees getting bit. 4 DP’s produced 8 coons. 3 within 30min of setting, lol. The next month we caught 6 more. If we were serious I probably could’ve set a dozen and had 20+ each night.
