Hi all! I was directed to this forum as many people here use the Yamaha Bravo for your trapping activities. I am hoping that someone can answer a few questions I have about a used Bravo that I am looking to purchase. I am told that it is a 2009 Bravo 250 Trappers Edition. Looks to be in mint condition. Here are my questions:

1) what makes the Trappers Edition different from the other Bravo longtrack models? I can't find anything about when I search the web!

2) I have been trying to search online for the right manual and for 2009 I keep finding manuals for different bravo models, but none specifically refer to the Trappers Edition model. What is the Bravo model for this edition? For example, for 2009 I keep finding manuals for the BR250TY and the BR250TV but the Yamaha website refers to the 2009 as BR250T. When I compare the manuals there are slight differences (i.e. different recommended spark plugs). I am trying to figure out the correct spark plug to use for the 2009 Trappers Edition. I live in the remote north of Quebec and I have to order most of what I need online. If anyone can clear that up I would greatly appreciate it and if anyone has a pdf of the correct manual I would love to see it.

I dont yet have a copy of the VIN so I can't research it from that perspective.

Thanks everyone!

I think you'd get more responses on the wilderness forum page.

Might post this there also.

"trapper's Edition" doesn't ring any bells with me but I am not a Bravo guy.

Never heard of the trapper edition. I thought they were all the trapper edition. At least they are here. smile

I heard, not verified, that they put an extra fuel tank in the glove compartment in newer models to increase the range. maybe that was important to some trappers?

"2011 YAMAHA BRAVO 250 (BR250TA1) FUEL TANK 2" verified If you want a good source of models and parts info google" ronniesmailorder"

BR250T The T stands for trapper model, not edition.

The spark plug for a 2009, according to ronnies, is the same NGK BR8HS or B8HS that has been used for at over 30 years.

Not sure about the Bravos, but the Yamaha Enticer 340s had trapper models. They were geared lower, 12/33 in TR vrs 13/22 in standard. The carb had smaller jets in the TR also, main 132.5 rather than the standard 135 and pilot is 95 rather than 100. The secondary clutch is set different as well, trapper engages at 3200rpm standard at 3000. I have both trapper and standard long tracks in the 340s. Almost impossible to spin the track on start up with the TR, which is awesome. My son always spins the standard when he takes off, on purpose I'm sure. Top end on the standard is around 5mph faster as well.
