I've read about it: bringing back extinct species. They call it "rewilding." It's a whacked-out eco-theory that since humans caused the extinction of these animals, we humans should bring them back.
The theory that early humans on the American continents caused mass extinctions is itself controversial. For one thing, why didn't humans cause mass extinctions in Africa and elsewhere?
I wrote about the issue in my story "Trapping the Pleistocene," which was recently reprinted in Forever Magazine.

These scientist suggest that bringing back the mammoth will stop or reverse climate change. Does that mean climate change is not human induced?

Hang on a minute. Sooo by what they are saying ... the last ice age ended because the mammoth died out and if we re invent them, we could have ski resorts in Florida's and go skating in the everglades. Them pythons are not going to like them news Makes perfect sense now don't it
