If buy used, what model best get? I have always had gm..not fond Chrysler , monitor my Chevy hi mileage pickup now, 290,000 on it. Had 3 cast iron exhaust manifolds on it an not up idea by another as I think small crack. Could last months before go. Like others. Had 1 crappy start this morning. An left it run until thru small trapline. Didn't do it again, after got home I test it few times, an didn't have trouble crappy start since summer when had solenoid valve replace for fuel vapors. Consider another used truck payments if can afford come up an keep Colorado . Some awful prices at dealers but they got stand behind it with warranted . Not look nothing real pricey. But prices are insane since pandemic anyhow. The problem is parts an shop bill also

It is a little earlier than I usually like to pour a drink and make popcorn but what the heck.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Dave, first thing you have to decide is how much do you want to spend.

$20,000 wont buy much anymore.

Way less then 20 grand, I never afford 10 grand on payments , I know that, my pickup new in 2010, 18 grand I think. Now it is 30 something new. U could spend more new truck then house worth prettner, crappy start this morning, if don't do again. I guess fluke. If does again. Go shop. Check engine lite on a yr with malfunction cat converter an fuel level float sensor on fuel pump that 5 yr old . I think crappy start today was fuel related something . Maybe flooded somehow as wasn't complely warm up when shut off at 1st bridge or wasn't get fuel right for some reason . Not sure if on later model auto if have crappy start once if should have check out shop or see if does it again. I guess find out

There in lies the problem.

I'm aware of your situation but if you want to keep it under 10 k your options will be very limited.

For sure the new price structure in everything sucks.

You can get a decent truck for 20 grand. Look what he's driving now.

I just traded off my old Truck Friday. It was an 18 with 72,000 miles on it. I got $25k in trade for it and it needed tires, brakes, shocks, probably a battery soon and it had a significant unknown "howl" in the front end. With trucks, it is "pay now" or "pay later".

I have nothing clever to put here.

Are you going to get a bank loan or try to finance it through a dealer. If its the latter I'm not going to be able to help.

We have yet to spend over 10k on a truck and usually get at least 5 years out of them, some of them much longer.

Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

I paid $8k for this one a couple years ago. Rust free and runs perfect. No troubles. They are out there if you look but you'll not find them at a dealership.

Lol. You call that an old truck. You must be really hard on vehicles if it had all those issues.

Time flies. It was 6 years old and the only thing I do to them is put gas in them and have the oil changed. If I need to jump in the truck and drive across the country I don't want to worry about breakdowns or repairs.

I have nothing clever to put here.
