We all have them. If we are honest with ourself we can recognize them and k8ndnof laugh at ourselves about some of them
I'm not sure if bias is the right term so here are a few examples of mine.

I find it odd when a man does not have a pocket knife on him. And worse it reduces his masculinity In my mind.

As a city kid in a non hunting rual environment most of the time automatically anyone that said they hunted was elevated to hero level and I hung on every word. Out of the people I meet from ky they all hunted. As silly as it is now I still catch myself in disbelief when I meet people from KY that don't hunt. I have noticed with my boys their opinion of people they meet is higher if they hunt. They are starting to realize how misplaced thing that can be. In the last year I have been having the tell me latter how much or little experience people have after listening to them talk.. it's nice to see they are learning how to use discernment and that a lot if "hunters" are not
automatically knowledgeable outdoorsman.

When I visited my Grandparents in the UP as a child I was amazed at the hunting/ trapping/outdoor culture it intrigued me to no end I decided then that was the life for me.

Any sort of squeamishness about dispatch or touching dead stuff I find disgusting, particularly in a male.

It's just something that has to be done get over yourself.

The pocket knife example is my bug a boo. I can not fathom how any decent male would not have a pocket knife either being carried or very handy to reach.

Who needs a pocket knife these days? You can go to the doctor to get a sliver pulled. As well as get a 10 day prescription of antibiotics just in case.

That’s actually one of mine, people that run to the doctor every time they sneeze or get a paper cut. (And don’t carry a pocket knife)

Guy I work with acted like a cartoon elephant dancing around a mouse that came out by his feet. Only thing missing was a squealing. Guy doesn't Carry a knife either. But he thinks he is tough. Lol. I an trying to change jobs or shifts to get away from him.

Amen, Gentlemen.

Never without at least two knives, belt and pocket. Usually four when I go to town. grin

If close to my vehicle, I have access to six or seen more, plus an axe and a couple hatchets.

When someone asks if I have a knife, I ask where is theirs. shocked

I’ve had several people over the last few years say, “of course you’d have a pocket knife” when I pull one out to help with some task or loan to someone. They say it almost like your a knuckle dragger or river rat stuck in the past if you carry one. But I guess We’r even because of what I think of them for not carrying one. grin

I have got that reaction also. My youngest boy may have 5 or 6 on him but always at least 1. He started that about 6 or 7. My 13 year old can't keep track of them. He only gets cheap ones bought for him after loosing a few 60$+ models. So back to the under $10 China specials for him.

HA!
When my son was 10 or so he won choice prize at some carnival game. He picked a sheath knife. The guy behind the counter looked at me for approval and I nodded. On the way home the boy took the knife out and looked down the blade. “Turn around dad! That carny gave me a bent knife!” I still laugh about that and it was over 15 years ago.

Peopel that never served in the military, but always say "Well I would have gone in but...." much worse than wearing shorts

Not sure if this is personal bias on my part or pet peeves…

Guess mine would be people that complain about not having wild game or older wild game, yet they shoot anything that moves. One old boy told me I was lucky because everywhere I hunt has gobblers. This same joker will shoot a limit of jakes on the first day of season and say that’s all he ever has. I agreed with him that unless he lets some reach gobbler age he’ll never have any.
Same with deer, I always get the excuse we just don’t have the quality of bucks y’all have. He is correct because if they see anything with antlers it’s getting shot.
Or the I need meat folks so they shoot a 1.5yr old buck.

And for the record I wear shorts, except when actually hunting, even during the winter. I only carry one knife regardless of where I am and other than work, I’ll have a firearm tucked away. Don’t see the need for multiple knives. If at all possible I’ll avoid a knife fight. Regardless of how good you are, you’re getting stitches and losing blood. I’d just as soon make the other person leak without leaking myself. Guns are great for that.
