Didn’t see a deer but picked up these coon on a short line where I don’t worry about critters getting shot. Dave ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/11/full-30166-196217-img_9018.jpeg)
Forever in debt to my Father who introduced me to trapping. May I be half the man he was.

Got my 86 year old father out and he got a six pointer. He was happy as a clam. His health has been bad so I was happy to assist him hunting this year. I also took a 7 pointer and a big fat doe.

The beav went out on Saturday killed a nice doe. Now I have a 4 point and 2 does In the freezer. The grandsons showed up late Saturday from Alaska. Got them all set up to go out Sunday. My 16 year old killed a huge 8 point. Had a 24 Inch inside spread. Not much mass but a beautiful buck. Then my 14 year old killed a buck fawn. First time he had used a deer rifle. That deer never moved out of It's tracks. Only saw 3 deer In total and they got 2 of them. I'm one proud grand pa. And even better yet they butchered my doe and their two deer and they are all In the freezer. And we went out and hung a few beaver snares today. Life Is good.

![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/11/full-2324-196489-dan_10pt._23.jpeg) Well, we had the least shooting heard ever in our area. Guys were simply not in the woods. Finally around noon I told my son that I would take a slow walk up the trail to him. I was about halfway when I heard him shoot. He got this nice 10 pointer. One shot and blew the top off the heart like usual. We were all giddy about having a deer and hunted the rest of the day and saw nothing else. Sunday was the same story with nobody in the woods. About 7:00 I heard him shoot. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2023/11/full-2324-196491-dan_3pt.2023.jpeg) He nailed a nice 3 pt. Around noon we skinned and quartered both of them and they are cooling in the fridge now. Nice to have raised a natural-born killer. We figure one more doe and we can get out duck hunting again. The tribe will not starve this year. Moosetrot

Glad to see you had some success Moose. My grandson shot a small10 pt. Sunday. It was his fourth deer in his young deer hunting career. All were one shot kills. How has the duck hunting been recently?

How has the duck hunting been recently? Congrats to your Grandson, Walt! He must come from good bloodlines! Have not been able to do much duck hunting this year, Walt. Certainly not as much as I usually do, Moosetrot
