FWIW, Had one of the first Ruger's [1965] in my area . $ 100.- OTC. To clear it ,had to hand eject by the Bolt each cartridge, a royal PIA. Later models had a button near the loading gate to dump live rounds. Only ammo locally were 240 gr. When I was able to get 180 gr. it made meat "IF" I did my part...... Great Brush Gun. I have one of those early 44 carbines. I get a kick out of when someone tells me it looks just like a 1022. Well, that's backwards. The 1022 looks just like a 44 carbine. The 44 came out in '61. The 1022 came out in '65.

But they’ll give these guys crossbows and the ENTIRE archery season and some of them are taking 60 yard shots and wounding deer they never find so they just go shoot another one. That’s why these antler restrictions aren’t working. I’m not against crossbows but I know too many people who think they’re hunters and they use them inappropriately.
