I dunno how many times I’ve heard that pocket sets take to long to make…wasting your time when you can use another method. I’ve been trapping for well over 45 years,,, and I guess it’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks. But with a pocket set, it’s virtually like Christmas,,, you never know what you might catch… Only thing I haven’t caught with a pocket has been a badger or skunk… This morning I pulled up a dandy 50 pound beaver….( I did use a Blake and lamb #3 because of the otter in this creek. I’m always looking for a nice place to pop in a pocket. Lol just gotta make sure you have plenty enough at the business end…..

I guess I am in the minority. I set SOME pocket sets but prefer blind sets.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Put a blind set on each side. The number of doubles and triples will amaze you.

Are the otter pretty dark leathered still? Ours are very dark until at least mid December. I’m not sure,,, I’ll find out tomorrow when I start scraping. They have so much gristle it’s hard to see the leather

That one Muskrat looks like a real Chub. Yupper, one of those corn fed Illinois varieties.
