Anyone having something different tomorrow other than Turkey? My husband asked for corned beef brisket with cabbage and carrots and potatoes. Perhaps we will get in some small game hunting if the rain stops here.

No but we'd sure trade a plate of leftovers.
Love the corned beef.

Only 2 of us so a rotisserie chicken instead of turkey. Stuffing and gravy on the side.

Pretty normal for us. Ham, roasted carrots/parsnips, stuffing, green beans, squash, dinner rolls and pie. Might be a few leftovers. blush

I think chicken is better than Turkey anyways. Turkey is so dry.

I have not been home on a Thanksgiving in over a decade. Something about double time and a half when scedualed or triple time when called in. Needless to say I almost always sign up to work. And when I don't they call me and I answer the phone and go in. I'm starting to regret my habits of doing so now that the older family has died off.

You have never had my wife's turkey. Juice runs out as the breast us sliced.

I have never celebrated secular holidays so it’s very normal for me to view it as just another day. But I can understand the value many folks hold on them because of family. I miss my grandparents so much. We almost always ate together because they lived right next door. My pap would boil hunks of pepperoni and place it in a big bowl. It seems weird now but I feel a need to do that soon. Pap was Russian and Grandma was Croatian. They refused to eat pepperoni “raw” like the Italians lol

When I was younger I hated hollidays. To many stops spread out over 60 miles . 2 sets of grandparents on my side then hers add in my mom's working got me out of that and I made a lot more money for doing the same job. Now I would give a years Pay to have one of those days back. I dearly miss my grandparents.

But I have an addiction to work/money problem. It's always just a little more and I will hit the goal post. Problem is not only does something always come up but it's also a moving goal post. But geting older only 43 but the years of rotating shifts working 16hr days and up to 97.5 hr weeks getting 4 hrs sleep and being away from home days on end only to take a few days off and have everything at home on the farm to work on behind are catching up both physically and mentally. I don't handle stay up 36hrs after 16 hrs sleep over the 4 days before like I used to.

So I'm beginning to see the value of time off holidays ect. Only going ro have worked 15 days in Oct and November took vacation. But even with working that little I could not work another 18 weeks and would still have over a 40hr average

My wife still takes the kids to her moms. And we will make it to my mom's to visit and eat as little same possible ( mom can't cook but tries) my wife will throw down in the kitchen and make a traditional Thanksgiving meal 94% from scratch all from things we raised killed or grew on the farm for our family. Can't get 100% we can't grow everything or don't like sugar coffee and flower It just won't be on a big money days.

We live 2.5 hours from most the family but if I had a nice building to do it in I would have a big Thanksgiving here and even not work. Guess I better work some more overtime to pay for that building.;) see how that works?

We'll be alone again, picked up a cooked turkey breast from the grocery store and will have a couple sides, just as soon have hotdogs, lol. I really don't care anymore, everyone is dead or moved away, kids in Texas, no grandchildren.

Just another day in paradise.... cool

Instead of having a turkey, we're having two turkeys! All the sides and traditional goodies. House full of kids and grandkids starting tonight and all the way through the weekend. Love it. I am blessed.

We are going to have Stouffer's Vegetable Lasagna. It's just my wife and I and we have no children or close family, so no one is coming home for the holiday. Our local fire company has several turkey dinners thru out the year, so we can have our Thanksgiving turkey often. I realize that this is not a traditional "Thanksgiving dinner", but I feel since it's whatever you want and/or like, it's a personal preference.

Told my wife let’s just fix pizza cause the kids will have turkey and ham over at their in-laws . So I look at it as a win for us less for us to clean up .

I'll be by myself. Already did turkey with Mom and Dad. Wife is headed to daughters house but they have cats and I have severe allergies to them. Couldn't last 5 minutes there without an EpiPen in my leg and a bottle of benedril down my throat.
Looks like venison burgers and broccoli for me.

Same here starts around 5pm, Italian night I believe. Wouldn't have it any other way and my wife's turkey is nice and moist!
My oldest grandson and SIL are going to deer camp with me for the first time Friday so it should be a good time!
