Some of the best days of my life were being young and walking up a creek with a packbasket full of traps and stakes, a couple lures and just setting whatever looks good for mink, muskrats and coon. Basically an infinite number of sets.

Because I’m a trapper lol… In all seriousness I am trying this season to keep very detailed information of my sets lures baits catches….

Yeah I know the KISS method however over the years I learned many variations of simple sets some work in one location yet fall short in another.
The app lets me add set names, locations and many details if I want.
Not trying to complicate trapping I find the fun is experimenting and noting what works.

The best I can describe it to you is if you ever see where coyotes are mousing in a meadow they typically dig a horse shoe shape, bedding a trap at the highest level within 5’ of the dig seems very attractive for them to observe and try to catch another rodent. PM me if you need more details.

I bought that app when I started. Deleted it within half a year. I don’t know if there’s a none for some of my sets, I just see a spot and pictur how I’m going to set it. Very basic I guess, cubby, box, run, jackpot, entrance. Now I use IHunt or others say OnX. Excellent for property boundaries.

Thanks just started setting it up. It was under $4 for life one time fee , so if it doesn’t work I’ll do like you said and delete it…

I have many sets so when I get ready to set I am not looking for one or two specific sets. This allows me to adapt to the location…

That has been on of my high production locations for a number of species. Yet many fail to recognize and set them.

I use blind sets all the time. I thought you were looking for sets not locations????

When fur trapping one or two standard sets for each animal will suit you to skim the fur and keep moving.Its all about putting pelts on the boards.
When doing nuisance work or to be able to take any individual animal at will you need a deep bag of setting knowledge to pull from

How many sets do i know? A bunch. How many sets do i actually use? Not many.
