Well, hopefully, there may be light at the end of the tunnel.
This is a rather in-depth article that recently appeared in Zero Hedge, a great news source.

nice article, but as long as we're indoctrinating our kids into the Cult of Climate Alarmism, we're doomed.

A typo (or Freudian slip) in the 2nd paragraph. Enron went belly up in 2001, not 2021.

I think the child labor mining of critical EV minerals is in cobalt and not lithium. The latter is basically dug with huge draglines out of salt flats in mostly desert areas. Go Google "photos of lithium mining" sometime. Kids aren't running machines doing that work.

Overall, "zerohedge's" thesis holds, few people actually want to buy EVs as an all purpose (like taking it for a trip across the country). However, the people in control of things won't give up easily. I suspect that the coming major recession/depression will mess up the "zero emissions" goals faster than most things...

let us not forget that the real goal ISN'T "zero emissions"...it's Total Control!

Why don't Greta do something about preventing the volcano in Iceland? Could it be the earth does what it wants to. Man can either live with it or die from it, but control it I doubt.

How can eating all my turkey today make me feel better knowing there are kids in China starving. Ghosts of Greta of the past are still with us.

x2, the large corporate timberland owners are converting to mostly all selling carbon credits and not harvesting timber. So much money being made doing nothing but calculating annual timber growth rates.

What reasoning could they possibly use that letting the old growth die and decay or burning off every so often is better. 2 x 4's in my walls don't cause that much damage, but maybe I just don't get it !
Then I guess the argument that old growth makes more oxygen than new fast growing plants but I don't buy it.

That was it. That was all she did. And she was immediately and viciously attacked for daring to converse with anyone that questioned climate change. It was the reaction of the scientific community that lead to her researching more into it and eventually changing her opinion regarding the urgency of climate change. She still believes that man effects the climate, she just doesn't believe it's that big of a deal.

There are scientists you never hear about from the media that say there has always been climate change over hundreds of years. It's not caused by man, it's cyclic.
It used to be called global warming, but after a while anyone watching the years closely realized that wasn't working. So, they had to change it to the "catch all" theory, climate change.

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

THAT is all which is needed to expose the whole thing as a farce.
Anyone with 2 or 3 brain cells to rub together can figure that out.
Everyone should be outraged by the fact that they consider all of us to be too stupid to figure that out.

EVERY climate "emergency" [read: "existential threat", if you will] requires the SAME "fix"...the Western World has to give up its competitive advantage indefinitely.

if you hear politicians say "climate change" and "environmental justice" or "fairness" in the same sentence, you KNOW they aren't talking real science, but Socialism.

https://www.investors.com/politics/...admits-real-motive-behind-warming-scare/

from the article...

"If they were honest, the climate alarmists would admit that they are not working feverishly to hold down global temperatures -- they would acknowledge that they are instead consumed with the goal of holding down capitalism and establishing a global welfare state.

Have doubts? Then listen to the words of former United Nations climate official Ottmar Edenhofer:

"One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with the environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole," said Edenhofer, who co-chaired the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change working group on Mitigation of Climate Change from 2008 to 2015.

So what is the goal of environmental policy?

"We redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy," said Edenhofer."
