Just thinking this is my first coon in a DP, have had them for a long time just never use them. Most of the farms I trap there isn’t dogs or they understand the risk. I set a few up here to see how the really work. I’m not really a fan of baiting them but they work. Another tool in the box I guess.

Shoot, none of the places I trap are supposed to have dogs running around and that’s all I’ll use. They’re great traps for me. Bags of dry catfood is cheap bait and works. Ease of setting and the fact it takes no time at all even makes them more appealing. Coons, possums, and fox get caught in them.

I like them cause the raccoons can’t get under a jaw and chew their foot off like they do in a coil. Not that I would release any coon…but i find it macabre when they do that

I just never used them, been sitting on the shelf for several years. If I’m where I need something else just went to a cage. I’ll have to rethink my ways maybe.
