Shame , some people just have to ruin it for everyone.
Bet most traps wind up in the trash somewhere, as the thief doesn't know how to use it.
Just no respect for others any more.

It's tough, I had permission from a landowner to trap on his property, He is not their full time & told me he had seen people walking dogs around this spot I planed to set, I set & he said not to be concerned about them walking dogs, They shouldn't be there. We have a 48 hr trap check, I figured I leave them quiet for a couple days. Go back to check & both traps were gone, The 3/32 wire was poking up from the beds, they were clean cut , as with a cable cutter, with nothing else disturbed. Trapper or dog walker, who knows. You'll always have some kind of loss.

Call the warden. I know the Eau Claire County warden very well, and he is a good man to work with. I know he works Chippewa county as well sometimes. Let them handle it for you. No need to to reset the same spot and give another trap away. Just give them the information.

Hopefully the judical system is different in WI than here in WA. Had videos of folks messing with my traps got a,6 month statement of Continuance and a 275.00 fine for a Gross misdemeanor subject to 364 days in Jail and or up to 5000.00 fine. Basically didn't even amount to a slap on the wrist. Never again will I depend on judical system to dispense justice. Nuff said
