I would like to hear the stories that one heard ! That general shape must have been a do it all knife . We were cutting meat today and I think if the point was lower down on the blade I could have trimmed easier .

Very interesting to hear you say that: I love my kephart blade and when put it up against the Wilson blade there is a whole lot of resemblance. Both guys had to be very savvy woodsmen and then to come up with basically the same blade is very interesting, probably not a coincidence.

That looks like a well worn down, Regent Sheffield serving knife, without the scales. They have been commonly given as weddings and special event gifts for many years. They usually come with a fork in a box.

Blade shape aside, the tang is way too wide to be a "serving knife" of the type shown in the photo with the fork.
