I didn’t mean it mean or rude, just a wording thing for me. Sorta like if I told y’all about a pheasant hunt I went on down here in Georgia and we shot probably close to 50 or so, would y’all not say anything? If I posted a picture of me and my boy standing in front of the tower they threw them out of, would you still not say anything?
Sorta like my first beaver I caught. Heck it was a crossover that looked like a dirt bike trail. I owned up real quick that it was a no brainer, but still had no clue about it until a member here talked me through it. Someone even made the comment that basically a kid could catch them there and I agreed, lol.

With that said, if my comment offended the OP you have my sincere apology. No offense was meant, just a clarification.

Wanna Be I apologize. I was just poking back at you. I normally do not do that online. No feelings hurt on this end. I totally get your perspective

to everyone else these were not feral pigs. They call them stoker pigs and are a mix of whatever. There were Russian boars in there as well but we passed as we were looking for meat pigs. Thank you all for the kudos!

All are feral pigs look like those as well. I think there are places around here that take trapped feral hogs and put them in pens and offer hunts. Not sure the legality of transporting pigs to that place, but I know it’s done.
For those without feral hogs you can equate their nose to a coyotes. Their vision is horrible, but hearing and nose will not allow for any mistakes. Stalking can be done with archery equipment with the right wind.

What caliber rifles were the girls using and where did they aim? Did they drop or require follow up shots. Hogs are crazy sometimes. Sometimes what you think is a bad shot and they drop immediately. Sometimes with the “perfect” shoulder shot, they require another couple of shots to put them down.

Mine have disappeared for now and not really missed because I’m enjoying the sleep, lol.

Wanna Be the younger one used her new .410 and her older sister used a crossbow. Both shot behind the shoulder. .410 hit the heart and fell after a few yards arrow hit went a bit further and fell. Arrow was a double lung pass through. Both pigs ran after hit. 1 shot for each.

Around here pigs are raised and sold to these small fence areas they charge more for pure breed Russian boars but as posted they are skinny and less attractive for table.

Glad you mentioned the archery equipment. I see the same with archery shot anything. Even if they run they “usually” fall within sight. The bang from a gun will send them running to never never land if they don’t drop at the shot. One good thing they’re learning is shot placement as well. Kudos to all y’all.

Come on..., the OPs never let on that this was a " hunt". He disclosed that.

Just a fun time with his kids. cool

The girls look genuinely happy. Good eats.

Wanna_ be. You seem to be a stand up guy. Hoping you posted your original thoughts without fully realizing it was not intended as a " hunt".
Been there, done that.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

Well... I'm gonna say great job to all involved. They made bacon and had a great time while doing it... that's an all around win...

There are many options available for people to "hunt". People do planted pheasant hunts, it's a regular thing. Quite fun, though me being cheap, I'm the guy on public land waiting for the fly overs. People spend 10k to go shoot a bull elk or buck. It's basically a gimme. So why all the grief about a high fence hog hunt. I'd do that with my kids in a heartbeat. Congratulations on making memories with your family.
