Believe it or not people are ingorant and also like to think they are getting something special. I would not display them all at once.

Her is an example of hoe people's minds work. We had a litter of manix kittens and my wife had had them advertised for free for close to a month and no one showed any intrest at all. I Wes getting on to her about getting rid of them( she didn't get the outdoor cats fixed like I had asked) she was flustered when I pressed her. Then I told her to put $50 on them she thought I was nuts but did it. They were sold in 4 days. We couldn't give them away in 3 weeks but sold them in 4 days.

Since it's a "before Christmas sale" people are going to be looking for last minute gifts.

I'd go with $50-$75 for the smaller ones and $125 at a minimum for the bigger one.

Tell them they're Amish made and double the price. Great work on those boards.

I would pay 65 for the smaller one and 85 for the larger so more than that because I am cheap probably 75 and 95 and they would probably sell like hot cakes

looking at online stuff 120 for the large one and it would likely sell well

Concerning your idea to sell one a the auction for the Trappers Defense Fund .You are most likely correct Items like those boards will catch the eye of many people and some buy at some higher than expected prices just because it just catches their eye .And those boards have the eye appeal that folks like . Just like trapping for canines and cats eye appeal can make or break your sets

Those are really nice, almost too nice to use for cutting on. $65 for the smaller ones, $100 for the largest ones.

Very nice work first off.

I'd say around $75 for the smaller boards and $100 for the larger boards would be a fair price

Get a small brand of a fox, coon or mink and woodburn it into the corner for the auction one maybe?

Interesting, I wouldn't think that someone would pay some of the prices you guys are quoting. I'll have to get a better idea of the traffic the wife thinks we will get. The more traffic, the higher the price, I suppose. Granted, this is not mass-produced Chinese junk. Every board is a little different, one of a kind, and the smaller ones are really thick and heavy. Now I'm leaning more towards $65 and $90. I may have to quit my job and do this for a living! grin

Very nice work. and well worth the money to use as designed or displayed.

Learned this yrs ago from a junker.when trying to sell your wares.

when told the price and they look up. its to high, if they look down its a reasonable price and usually is a sale

wood isn't cheap
your time isn't cheap
I would much rather pay 40 and 60 but that is me being really cheap so I added some trying to be normal people cheap not me cheap.

go shopping , little 3/4 inch thick boards that are not much larger than a piece of printer paper are 40-60

when you get larger like 14x22 the price jumps a lot

yours also have feet from the looks of it that adds some cost also

No Feet on these boards. They are elevated because I am applying finish to them. Just blocks of wood so they can air dry. I don't like feet on boards, with feet, you can only use one side.

I don't really have any "pricing" advice to give you, but I just wanted to say that if you decided to do some custom size boards, I would be very interested in having you make one for me. I have been searching on Etsy for a large 28" x 30" (or so) maple cutting board. I would much rather give business to a T'man member. Anyhow, maybe Etsy would be a good place to research pricing on butcher block cutting boards, and see what other "hand made" craftsman are selling theirs for. Just a thought... NICE work at any rate!

Funny you say that, I am calling them "charcuterie boards" for the sale since that seems to be all the rage these days. The wife is expecting up to 2 hundred people. Her, and a few friends are getting together and selling crafts. The wife is selling paintings, crafts and a bunch of hand painted Christmas cards. Anyway, I was thinking of $50 for the smaller boards and $75 for the larger one. I just don't know if they will sell. I wouldn't pay that but then again, I can easily make them. Although, it is a good bit of time and work when you start with rough cut lumber.

Too cheap in my opinion. I agree with Eagleye on pricing. If you list them too cheap, people might think they are cheaply made and may pass.
