What’s your go to brand of dip? Debating a few options, formula one trap kote along with a few others. Water soluble solutions seems better for the trapper getting a late start in late November as opposed to the gas based solutions.

From what I've heard, formula one would be the best if going with water soluble solutions. I'm an Andy Stoes' (gas based) user, but you wouldn't want to be dipping them in that this time of the year.

Formula 1 is good stuff. Soon as they are dry you can go set them. Dries easily in just a few hours.

I use acrylic latex paint. Works for me and you can usually find miss matched paint for $10.00 a gallon.
I'm not paying $50.00 a gallon for F1. LOl

I have used Speed Dip on most of my traps for a couple decades. I don't follow the directions. I use about 1/2 to 1/3rd the amount of dip per gallon of fuel and I get a nice thin layer that dries quickly and the coating typically last 2-4 years depending upon usage or the number of coons one catches. When you only need 1-2 days of hot dry weather it is not that difficult to get that done in late July or so.

A better reason to buy miss matched latex pant.

I have used zep floor wax ( same thing as FMJ) and currently rustoleum/acetone.

Not sure I would use latex on metal but if it works good (does not come off easily) then that is a good option. Critters don't care what color the trap is

I just redipped some traps in rustoleum/acetone. Not sure what was going on but the paint from the first dipping adhered a lot better on some of the parts. Like one jaw the paint would not come off and the other side came off easily
