Are you using it for tanning /taxidermy ? Go to Fleet Farm in the cattle department they sell salt by the 50 pound bags. Last I bought some it was around 10 dollars a bag.

If for tanning stock salt works but is not as fine as Clorox pool salt. I got 800 lbs of it for $5 a bag on clearance at the local Walmart. Normally $7 plus. Tried stock salt when I could nor get the Clorox. Had some small slp spots on occasion. That has not happened with the Clorox. Heard one can get Mortons salt, fine like clorox, in 20lb boxes at Costco but more exspensive then the Clorox or stock salt.

Stock salt from a feed store is what I use for taxidermy.

Ice melting salt is pretty cheap, check out water softener salt.

I bought literal tons of salt over the years to use in my taxidermy shop. I got it for years from the local feed store. After they closed up I got it from TSC. It was less than $5 per 50# bag. If your using it for tanning, stock salt will be just fine. Don't go with a coarse salt, or any rock salt type salt. I even filled my saltshaker with it for years.

Last year I bought pallet of Mix-n-Fine livestock salt in 50# bags from TSC, but can't remember what I paid. This year I bought a pallet of the same stuff at my local feed supplier for less than 10 bucks a bag. As others said, almost any feed supply store should care loose livestock salt. Some places will give you a bulk discount if purchased by the pallet. This reminds me to go order another pallet. Salt for hide and meat preservation... crucial!
