I really enjoyed Brent Bonecutter's Longlining Mink Back in The Day article in the December issue of The Trapper Magazine. He explained perfectly how to lay out a mink long line and captured the excitement of doing it on his trap line back in the late 80s. It's a great feeling when everything comes together and works. This is no accident, I'm sure he spent countless hours thinking things through to come up with a plan to maximize his catch.

I've met a lot of good trappers over the years and one thing the very best trappers all do is rank locations like he described in detail in the article. Obviously, everyone only has so much time to trap and you may as well trap the best locations in the time you do have. You have to force yourself to drive by the mediocre locations and set the better ones.

Very well written article.
