What are the best pan covers other than window screen, etc. I have used pillow stuffing and odorless trash bags but trash bags don't work very well. Pillow stuffing is easy but it doesn't work. Maybe I'm not using enough? Should the pillow stuffing stick out a little on all sides of the pan or what amount should I use?

I use peat these days and won’t go back to pan covers. That being said I used landscaping fabric before making the switch to peat. The landscape fabric is pretty versatile and you can use one shape to fit several different traps. I use Mb 550’s and 650’s and will use one size for both .

Can anyone give me tips on pillow stuffing? I use it under my pans on my 550’s and it works fine. Take enough to just fill the void. If it doesn’t look like enough, add a little.

I use coffee paper coffee filters. If wet, they don't tear but cut pieces of wax paper works great also.

Go buy a bag of polyfil and put it under the pan. Disclaimer: I trap an area that doesn’t freeze, so may not work it freezing situations, I really don’t know. I know it WILL keep dirt from filling in under the pan even during about 3” of rain. If I “know” we’re going to have a lot of rain I’ll use Zaggers method of bedding and screen. Pulled empty sets on pull day with a bed full of water, but the trap still fires. Polyfill works in freezing temps because it is water resistant. Thanks everybody!

Everyone uses something different. I found with polyfil that if i didnt get enough dirt covering and it blew off I had some showing. Seems like you wouldnt want white against dirt where you want a yote to step. I landed on wax paper because it is easy and Im kinda lazy. Wrinkle it up before using because it seemed to take the shape of the pan better and not create a “bubble” in the dirt. We don’t have yotes here so I don’t know but knowing they might be here in the future, what about the white would cause them not to step there?
