I made two out of a peeled 8 inch 6 foot log of white spruce.about 20 yeqrs ago. Cut it in spring and peeled it,then cut it in half lengthwise with the chainsaw freehand and shaped the ends with the saw, then when the halves dried I smoothed the ends out with a rasp and sanded. i gave one away and still have the other one.

I did something similar to the one Yukon John posted but I put a board with a dent or hollow on to support it it in the middle.

Tomcat...can you do back leg holes on beaver with that point? Mine is pvc and the way the point is shaped, I can't hardly do them without tearing.
