A friend gave it to us for Thanksgiving.
They're vegetarians and I keep em in produce during the summer.

I like banana bread as long as it don't have nuts in it. Brownies on the other hand need nuts and no frosting.
Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

Never, ever have I seen banana bread for sale in a store unless a box mix.
Nuts, either walnut or pecans, go in my homemade banana bread. Not a real fan of nuts in my brownies but they are ok and absolutely frosted!

I'm usually not a big banana bread person,I was leery of it but I was really surprised by how good it is.
I do not; however, think it was worth 16.99 ..what it costs on the internet
I used to bake it alot for my dad.
He'd have loved this bread.
It actually made.em think of him when I first bit into it..about how much he'd have loved it.

I'd eat that!
There are some older black ladies who are put together like good cooks who support an outreach ministry by selling 2 products. They serve BBQ Turkey legs that are about 13 inches long and the best banana net bread I've ever eaten. These ol girl set up at country fairs, rodeos and other events and I always take their goods home. Too shelf by any standard!

Sorry cathryn but you're dead wrong. The best banana bread on earth is Aunt Sandy's banana bread located on the road to Hana, Maui Hawaii. Its almost worth the trip. Your aunt sandy or that's the name.of the company?

Thats the name of the place. I am sure that she is someones aunt, but not mine. They have a roadside stand that they sell it at. Thousands of loaves a day. One of the locals said that one of the secrets is that they use a banana called a apple banana in it. Whatever their secret is it works. I was gonna say if it was your aunt maybe we could.work a trade.lil

Here is my Grandmother's recipe and I feel its about the best. Nice and moist and flavorful.
Banana Bread
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease and flour a 9 inch load pan
2/3 cup of butter 1 1/3 cups of sugar 2 Large Eggs 1 ½ cups mashed bananas 2/3 cup sour cream (or plain yogurt/vanilla yogurt) 2 ¾ cups flour (sifted) 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt *1 tsp vanilla (optional) 1 cup rough chopped walnuts (I like to leave some very large pieces)
Mix together butter, sugar and eggs till well blended, then add sour cream and banana and mix till mostly smooth. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and walnuts, mix till combined and pour into pan. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a knife in the center comes out clean.
Turn out onto a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure
