When trapping season opened here in MN, it was already making ice so after I saw everything freezing in while I was setting the first day, I decided to pull everything I had just set. It stayed cold for a week or so and I decided to put the boat, motor, and all of my trapping stuff away until spring. Well, along came a warm spell and I could not contain myself and dragged everything all back out and used 6 traps for beaver and 6 for the muskrats. I caught 15 of the 22 beaver in 3 days in the 6 traps and all 20 of the muskrats were caught since Wednesday on my shoreline with six 110's in bank runs. Man, was that ever fun! I felt like a kid again and have them loaded up to sell on the carcass today. I did not have time to finish and dry all of the rats before the buyer came so left them as is.

I was going crazy without having traps out. I also caught one otter in a beaver set , so I just made a few otter sets to keep the anticipation going.

Nice work! Hunting trips seem to keep interrupting my trapping time. I will get back home later Friday night before the cat and fisher season opens so hope to put out a handful of sets before I leave again.

I have nothing clever to put here.

That’s like my fisher poles that always produce....set the same poles ,year after year..Makes it easy ,once you put the early work in.

That is great, I am about ready to try and get my 2 otters and I always snag some beaver in my otter sets. The river is super low and most of the beaver in my favorite sets walked to somewhere with more water.

It's pretty much 20 bucks nose count on carcass beaver and 2 bucks on carcass rats. these days.

Just checked those otter traps this morning and had a male at each of the two locations. One more to go.
