I’ve been that guy recently, I wonder if a silenced 22 leaning in the deer blind is legal during muzzleloader season

I hunted with an older friend for many years. Mostly bow hunting

He told me once that he would rather run an arrow through a blowing does lungs than shoot a nice buck.

On more than one occasion he brought a doe back to camp because she was blowing and set him off laugh

A coyote that hangs up and howls out of range is almost as bad. Almost.

This. Particularly when everything is right and he should not know you’re there.

Old Canada guide told me once " when a deer blows at you - then blow back "
I've tried this a few times and it works !

The suspecting deer , then just thinks your another deer ..and let's you go ..
I suppose if she smelled you , it could be a different story ..
Try it sometime , it seems to calm them down a bit ...:-)

They blow at a lot of things. May not even be you. I had one blowing in Kansas once and it ran by me followed by a nice buck. If you hear one blowing look around you might see something good!

I don’t know how but the first time I saw a video about a red squirrel, that’s what I would shoot with the 22. I have also recently had a doe blowing at me, I figured I was busted. Odd because it was dead calm and noisy in the woods, never heard her come or go, just blowing at me from behind.

Typically they blow because they can't smell you.
Blowing back works, I will move behind a tree and wait for them to circle downwind.
Soft doe fawn gathering grunts ( if you can call it that) work quite often too calm them down
Just my experience
