I have a friend that has some 300 wsm brass that is once fired that I have access to.

There are some Remington new 270 WSM brass on gunbroker. The last batch sold for approximately 3.40 ea plus tax. I imagine I'm going to have to bite the bullet(pun intended) and get a couple bags to start. 200 will last me a lifetime.

That's tough. You can't find any primers in Anchorage......I guess that includes Fairbanks and all along the road system....S0, no primers to be had in Alaska....That would put the kabosh on reloaders in all Alaska unless they had their own personal stash.

As bad as the shortages have been the last few years down here you could always get some from somewhere.
Looks like some capitalist entrepreneur could figure out a way to get some components up there, maybe on the barge lines.

I've read stories that during WWII the only folks doing any reloading were the ones that had hoarded their own components from before the war started.

I haven't been in Fairbanks to look but the only primers I have seen in Anchorage were actually black powder caps. I've been looking every time I get there. Been at least 5 years since I found any to buy.

No Carlile is a freight company that will do orders large to small. Order something in the lower 48, have it shipped to them and they will get it to an AK terminal in several different cities.

I don't know how much it would add to the cost, but then again what is cheap in AK.

The problem would lie in the hazmat aspect of primers.

I have not looked into them but the problem originates with outfits like Midway or other retailers. They won't take the order because they see that it will eventually end up on a plane. That is the stumbling block.

Fortunately I have a friend with his own plane and he brings back stuff that can't be shipped. BUT.....when there is nothing to buy on the Anchorage end it gets difficult

Give Carlile a call, I talked to them this morning and they do hazmat and are waiving their hazmat fee right now. I would tend to believe if they do hazmat they know it cannot go on a commercial airplane.

I believe they do freight by land, air and sea.

But if Carlile gets it to Anchorage by truck......how would they move it past that point ? I will give them a call.

My club used to do that but everyone shot basicly the same calibers and gauges plus the wasn't the plethora of choices in powders/primers advertised today which imho is the reason for short supply
