Lots of guys are so please be smart where you are making your sets. There are LOTS of dogs still in the woods with the mild temps and lack of snow.

Rick, kids didn’t join this year due to school so dad and I are flying solo. It’s a bummer. I too am hoping to take advantage of this strange December weather but I will be chasing more otter than marten. Good luck everyone!

Good early morning,Scott and myself looked over some of the country we are going to trapping in and hung a few coyote/fox snares.Baited all the marten boxes and loaded 13 in the truck and loaded 30 footholds and drags, the cover is rolled over the tuck bed box.Waxed dirt, dry leave's and buckwheat hulls are loaded as well, set making tools lure and bait along with some cat flags.I will be making breakfast for Scott and myself here shortly, bacon and eggs maybe and omelette and some coffee.Started to snow last evening around 9 pm looks like about and inch or so now with strong winds,so we have some tracking snow now finally, other than late Oct when we got hit pretty good with snow about 11" all of that has melt and it's been a very mild Nov and Dec overall.Have a great day out in the woods setting for marten, fisher, bobcat everyone,I know Scott and I will have a good day of setting and hopefully not too much snow down our backs while making sets.Good luck to all,it's breafast time.

Breakfast is over, visiting with Scott waiting for day break, snowing harder and blowing now, glad we will be setting in the woods,it would be nasty out in the open country.Looks like 2 to 3" of snow now,it can stop anytime now.

No snow here yet, just rain. Less than ideal conditions to say the least.

I have nothing clever to put here.

All of 5 inches of snow in the ground when I left home this morning. Further north and east I went the less there is. I suppose when I get home the snowblower will come out

Nasty weather snow and wind, any where from 5 to 7" will do the finally tally shortly fell 3 short footholds 2 short on marten boxes.Scott did very well, but says I need to slow down a little.Saw 3 deer, one wolf had taken the bait maybe a half hour before we got there, need to bring bait back in tomorrow and put in a rub set.Look forward to finishing setting tomorrow and the check, hope things start moving after this storm I'm thinking Sunday night should be good, light winds and teens.Have a great night, love seeing your kids out with you atrapper.

Great pictures guys! I only got 14 sets in close to home and then got wet and lost interest. With the snow, wind and mild temps part of the lake opened back up. I feel sorry for the guy that has the house out beyond where it opened up.

Impressive run guys, especially with this weather! I Warned you Scott about running with Rick but glad you kept up! Looking fwd to seeing lots of fur!)
I got out 9 cubbies and half dozen snares after running my short line today. Caught one skunk and a fair sized raccoon. We got about 2" of snow today but the wind made it tough. I plan on putting a few more sets out but will wait to see some tracks. Making a hot meal then out the the shop to take care of todays catches.
