If you hate boxes then why do you set them? You’re retired , set footholds and check them everyday, what else do you have to do? I know you don’t have too many girlfriends to tend to.

Back at the house now,added two more marten boxes and 3 more cat footholds today,done setting.Missed a cat today a rabbit had hit the bottom of the snare and tripped the snare then another nice bobcat came down the trail,normally I have 2 snares per trail I hadn't set the other one yet.Saw 2 marten tracks today not around our current sets 2 cat tracks a few wolf tracks 3 coyote and 2 fox tracks.Guessing we will pick up a few critters tonight.We are not trying for our full limits of cats if we catch a couple more I'm fine with that,we might get our marten limit but if not thats fine too.Main goal was to get Scott his bucket list critters a 41 pound Tom is a good start,tomorrow he'll probably get his first marten.Atrapper glad to see you and the kids having success and fun out in the big woods.Thinking BLT's for dinner this evening,have a great evening everyone.

Wow, that is a heck of a cat! Nice work guys. I need to make a flying trip to MI and when I get back all the boxes are getting pulled and replaced with #3 LS's.

Wow, I have been looking for this post for the last week and just now stumbled upon it. I really appreciate having the season as it is this year. It normally has a bit better snow cover than we have by now. I have a couple younger guys with me again this year. With all the open water we are going to target a few mink also. We managed to get 3 marten today. One female and two males. Found some good cat sign a week ago so they should be back through soon. I will get pictures tomorrow.

Dad pulled one marten today saw lots of empty traps, pulled one frozen otter set made two more otter sets one beaver set and two more fisher/marten sets. Oh yeah shot a cabin chicken while checking my fox trap in my pajamas and then added another ditch chicken up the trail.
