Has anyone been having problems with paper mail getting where it needs to be lately ? Figured it's because it's its around Christmas but I've sent a few money orders out and apparently some of them haven't gotten where they need to be and it's kind frustrating. And I mean there only goin two or three states over and still nothing over a week

Those letters could see both coasts before they get there.

I hope not , can't tell you how much it sucks paying for something and ten days later having the seller in Florida hit you up saying " hay I still haven't seen your money order" smirk

Best to get a tracking number so you have a record and they can follow it along with you.

Yeah I usually do that or at least take a picture of the money order and send it to the seller but I had dad sending them off for me while I was on the boat and he's not the best at stuff like that as far as taking pictures

Mail sucks.ive went to paying my bills online as much as possible. Years ago when computers/internet came out the post office was worried about everyone communicating thru emails and there wouldn't no where be the volume of mail.i don't get why it takes so long.

Since most mail these days seems to be bulk(AKA spam) mail, workers probably arent that concerned if something slips through the cracks figuring the intended recipient doesnt want it anyway. I would hope that isnt the thinking but these days...

Since the over reacted shutdown the entire country, especially govt., adjusted to a much decreased level of acceptable work. You can see signs of it everywhere. It hurt us bad.

USPS is worse every year. My mail has to go to a P.O. box. No house delivery here. Not uncommon for the lady who works there to put it in the wrong box. 30 years ago all the mail was up by 8 a.m. Now it doesn't get to the post office till 10 or 11. When addressed to my street address it still got put in my P.O. box. Now it gets sent back. Been waiting 3 weeks for my new glasses now. I think the V.A. sent them to my street address. Going to call today and see if I can get someone to answer the phone at the eyeglass clinic.

It's not just the post office. It's everything. I think the electric company wants us to use on line bill pay because they send the bill out 6 days before it's due. We send a check and a phone call telling them it's on the way. We don't get late fees that way.

I'm sure the upcoming January rate increase will solve all the problems.

The way they route mail is ridiculous. I had something shipped to me from 4 miles away that traveled a little over 400 miles before it got to me. And it was 2 days late. It was medicine too, I was too sick to go pick it up.

No problems here. I do make sure to give my rural carrier a decent token of my appreciation for their service every Christmas . Twice a year I bring in an assortment from the bakery so the Post Master and Clerk give me a tiny bit of extra effort.
Majority of my packages end up on my front step, or inside the cab of my truck in poor weather. I am often amazed as something I ordered from Amazon on Sunday morning shows up Monday afternoon !

I have both a PO Box and receive rural service. On occasion I can get Clerk to hand off PO Box mail to carrier saving me an unnecessary trip to town.

Yeah the mail lost and envelope with a $700 money order in it. Lesson learned- get a tracking number or drive it there yourself.

My local post office is small compared to most motor homes are bigger yet they find ways to not deliver the mail. They sent back Christmas cards before because the had my old RR address on it just no logic to the move they know every box in the Office. The theory was if they had a sub working they would not know my box then that’s how stupid it gets.

Yes ! We got a new mailman and it’s awful! Hail damage in June and finally had to go pick up my insurance check after they mailed it 2 times and it got lost . Stopped getting my financial statements and company thought we had moved. Didn’t receive questionnaire from my retirement so they called asking why I hadn’t replied. All the pieces lost are 5.5-8.5 envelope size
