It appears you don't follow the "exposed" trap method. Do you not find covered traps more likely to freeze up? Or do you find our cats do not like them exposed.

I've learned enough thru the years to now know that I don't know enough. KNOWLEDGE IS FREEDOM.

Does MN. require you to use boxes like that?

Lynx will do the same with cubbies, I've always found it to be good practice to hang snares around my lynx sets that way I pick up those finicky cats.

Drake the footholds are semi exposed bedded in waxed dirt and dry leaves breaking the out line of the foothold, you can see 50% of the foothold I'd say.Someone was asking about the boxes,no we don't need to use those type of boxes in Mn,I would rather catch marten than fishers so I use the door opening front.Every once in a while you will catch a female fisher with the marten door fronts.

I would rather be running them now but I believe you may run a few off being in the woods at the crack of dawn.

I'm heading up tuesday to hopefully cross a bobcat off my bucket list. With no fishable ice on my walleye lakes I figured this would be a good year. I'd have gone up saturday but my Christmas tree business gets in the way of having fun.The DNR regulations say the bobcat must be skinned to register. So I take it if you want to have it mounted you must skin it yourself the way a taxidermist wants it?

Yes. Some guys will take it to the taxidermist to have it skinned to their liking and then get the pelt and carcass back to register it.

Dry run, marten stole the bait out of a bobcat cubby, had a bobcat at a cubby don't know if it missed the trap a Jake or didn't trip it I run about 4.5 lbs pan tenison to try to avoid kittens. One rabbit found it's way into a walk thru,it turned into bait.Saw a female fisher cross the road in front of us,few more deer tracks and a couple fox and coyote tracks.Sun is breaking out now nice cooler night coming 8 to 10 for the low, should be a few critters moving tonight, set two more marten boxes this afternoon, need to get a marten for Scott.
