Well, that is refreshing to finally hear some decent news. At the last auction I averaged $33 on beaver and was pleased as punch. I'm pretty certain I can look back at some of the Oregon game commission reports and find better beaver averages from the 40's .....but it sure beats averages in the teens that we've been living with lately.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Has anyone sold any fur yet this year? Maybe i missed a posting but it seems like someone should have at least tried their hand with Groeny by now somewhere along the line. A tiny sample, I sold 12 coon to Groeny the Saturday after thanksgiving. All taken the last week of October in east central WI. Six blue dinks/females. Four decent kinda blue and 2 really nice boras that were pretty white. Got $12 each for the big ones, $8 for the decent ones and $3 for the blue dinks. All stretched and dried. I knew they were early coon. I wanted practice with a new fleshing knife and beam before otter and coyote season. Did not see anyone else when I was there.

Unfortunately the source may not be reliable. We shall see. Yes, ship all of your stuff and find out in six months what it is worth. Actually the sale is late March so, with on line sales results usually posted same evening of sale, you should know what it is worth in 3 1/2 months.

"Of particular interest are BEAVER, MARTEN, FISHER, OTTER and LYNX as well as growing interest in all sections of BOBCAT. Even western coyotes are being asked about and with production being way down on this article we are optimistic on seeing a price and clearance improvement in March. We continue to hold to values on the muskrat and we will have several hundred thousand for offer in March which in this quantity will be available nowhere else. "
Would someone please explain what this statement means? Only thing I see there that some may not understand is FHA continuing to hold to valuations on 'rats. Means they have a price on the 'rats and are planning on holding to it. May or may not happen depending on the buyers.

Would someone please explain what this statement means? It means we'll be trapping beavers and bobcats and skinning a few coyotes if they are good ones. No one sold many coyotes last year so inventory is low and some are needed. Sounds like they have a bunch of muskrats but expect the price to be ok on them, no on else has that many muskrats I guess. Sounds promising to me, hoping our bobcats are good ones this year and we're trying to catch some problem beavers for the first time.

Not sure why you think inventory is low, many big buyers still sitting on 2 years' worth of good coyotes just waiting for the opportunity to unload.

They didn't PT everything. I think marten and lynx sold in the Auction room. Neither was cheap, but neither were great.
