]In honor of Pop (my Grandfather) 100th birthday this year, November 3rd, I had our own Sharon create a work of art for me. It shows Pop in top left, Dad in top right, my old trapping partner and best friend Arnold (who was honorary family) in bottom left and yours truly in the bottom right. The trap is modeled after the ones Pop first used when trapping foxes, and Sharon threw in some great fox and coon tracks. I will post another picture after I get it framed. Mike D

Many thanks for your kind words , all.
This portrait was a good breaking outside the box for me , in a nice group of people in family. I really enjoyed this venture.
From the many nuances of the human anatomy , as well as learning the details of biological similarity, in features subtle or dominant. Graphite pencil does such a fine job in skin tone values, lines that bring out the smiling expressions of life.
The coon and fox tracks were fun. And trappers who take note of gait , understand just what that fox was doing as he traveled from the bottom to the top of the margins.
Topped off with the authentic old trap that grandfather used many years ago, still part of this family tradition. Worn and weathered, full of character.
May your tradition continue long, enjoying the aspects of your work , Mike, whom I smile in calling you “ The Coyote Talker “
