Can you go by windchill for frost scrapping or only air temperature?

Windchill helps but keep it out of the sun.

I was trapping out of an old cabin here once. Back in the back country. I was tacking up a beaver hide to frost scrape and it froze before I could get it tacked up. It was -43.

-28 finally was outside frost scrapping that wolverine. Shure turned out nice. I'll post a picture in a bit After one more final scape.

-18.4 f = -28C that sound right. What my phone says

Scrape down the thick parts of the hide and let it frost dry then it will be easy for your wife to tan it up real nice for hood trim.
Frost drying really opens up the fibres and the brain/soap goes right in the hide easy.
