Looks like a 3/4 groove axe and a chert blade and if he has a buyer for the blade at that price i'm gonna be rich. Other than it's size , it's not that rare of a piece but nice finds no matter what.

That's exactly what he called them too.

That is a pretty cool find no matter what they're worth.

It's not always about catching fish. That's what people who don't catch fish usually say.

Nice find, early woodland is what I'm guessing. The location of find and pottery would be really interesting to know about.

To a person ignorant of nature, his country stroll is a walk through a gallery filled with wonderful works of art with their faces turned to the wall

They were found along the Nemaha River. I'm sure over the past hundreds of years the natives had camps just about everywhere there was a bump above flood plain. Some "experts" supposedly said the axe is some kind of green rock that only comes from Montana and the chert like that only comes from Canada but you know how experts can be.

I know an old man that lives here that found a greenstone axe head in a local river years ago. He showed it to me and a friend. He had a few small pieces of greenstone. Said if you rub it with a piece of leather it would turn a nice green color. His collection will go to a museum when he passes. He had the most amazing collection I’ve ever seen.

A Celt is an un grooved axe.
