One big thing I love about these sports…..only real MEN persevere and shine in this industry. Freaks and effeminate, dainty biological males , will not be seen. A true American tradition in horse eventing.
Wild final round. I’m glad Keenan didn’t buckle under the pressure. Zeke was on fire all week; I was hoping Sage could sneak it in on him though. I feel like after this year, Sage has finally got the finals figured out. If he’s healthy next year, I think he’ll come in on top, and not give it up during the finals. Rough ending for Dalton; I don’t even have words for that one. Was fun watching Haven give em heck all week, in the end, that young man held on, and he deserved it. He’ll be a force for a while. Hate to see Caleb retire; I’ve never been a big footing fan, but I always appreciate how Caleb carried himself. Extremely humble and one heck of a competitor. Rd 10 I think surprised a lot of folks in the bull riding. Exciting round. Ky is one tough stud, who deserved everything he got and more. That’s my take, and as usual, I’m in a depressed funk this Sunday morning now that it’s all over and we have to wait another year.

The bronc riding and the calf roping have always been my fav events at the NFR because they are so competitive and anything can happen. I am happy to say the bareback riders have also stepped up to be Cliff hanger after cliffhanger! The older guys are awesome but with the new talent being Rocker, Jess, and Keynan I say wow. It's a great time to a rodeo fan.
That event also ticks me off but more the way the media reacts. 2022 Jess wins his third consecutive average title plus his first wold championship and all the media talks about is Stiener this and that. 2023 Keynan accomplishes both as a rookie and again the media wants to interview Rocker Stiener. Puke.

Rocker is going to have to find a whole lot more consistency on all kinds of horses if he’s going to ever win the big buckle. He was night and day from horse to horse. It pains me to know he and lefty are such good buddies. That last ride of Keenan’s was the most impressive of all to me. So much pressure and a real rank horse. Sages 10th round ride was absolutely incredible!

Sharron I surely agree. In a world full of talented snowflakes for professional athletes, but any rodeo event you go to you will never see someone like that win anything. If you aren't talented and try ever harder at each level you fail.
They don't televise the women's breakaway roping very often but those gals can rope a calf without breaking a barrier in under 2 secs if they want a check. It's incredible watching and if you ask me, there has never been a ball game invented that can hold my interest like rodeo and futurity tope events.

OL99 I've seen the same thing with Stiener but I still think he has the capacity to complete at this level and let's just face it, the judges like to mark him high. When a horse fits him, he reminds me of a young Will Lowe and the judges would load him back in the day too.
The trouble with Pope is that you can't hardly ever buck him off. He has been that way since he was about 6 or 7 years old. Keenan is looking to be the same way. The more pressure he has on him, the more he will dig in and give them a spur bath!

Everyone handles pressure differently but it looks to me like Sage, Keenan, Ky, and Stetson are having so much fun that they can get out there and do the things that others struggle with. It is for sure great following them.
As far as Lefty, I try to cut him slack. California must be really bad because near as I can tell every California type and Austinite are thick as thieves.
