I got a 22 from my grandpa he says it has not been fired in over 40 years and has just been sitting in a barn.
It is a winchester model 60 single shot
Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing it up?

Just a simple little bolt gun, but done correctly is can be a nice usable family heirloom for years and years.

Take it apart, clean all of the metal parts with mineral spirits (sold as paint thinner at hardware stores).
Clean the bore squeaky clean.
Wipe all of the metal parts with mineral oil, wiping away all excess oil.
Your call on what to do with the wood.
Put it back together.
Shoot it.
Kill something with it.

if just a historic / sentimental value shooter
on metal I will clean everything with Hoppes #9 it won't harm bluing or browning it leaves a little lube behind on things like firing pins that is just enough , you can use your oil of choice

any rust use oil or atf and 0000 steel wool scrub that rust smooth that is rust not browning if it has a browning as long as it is smooth I will leave it after oiling it.
