Registered my fisher and two of my otter today. Seen a few old friends at the registration center doing the same thing. The CO was great and while taking care of the paperwork, we all had a great conversation regarding fisher vs bobcat population. The CO claims that bobcat will prey on fisher and that would explain or recent increase of bobcat. Came across these tracks later when checking the last half of my short line. No wonder things have been slow around here. I found those same tracks about 60-65 yards from my living room window.
I have nothing clever to put here.

No comment but I like the way you think! that's what not window insurance is if for. just make sure some glass falls inside your room and throw in a grouse for good measure. Most every window screen in my house has at least one bullet hole in it. Now the screens come off in the fall.

Look's good 330 if there are cats in the area they should check it out,saw one cat track today a medium size 20 something pounds fairly close to one of my locations,it might find the cubby tonight.Still no sign of the big track bobcat,he'll come back when he's ready, one male weasel today.Hung 3 coyote snares this morning and put in a woods dirt hole for bobcat about 50 yards from the other walk throughs set for the big track cat.Have a good night everyone. I sure hope you Get that Big footed Cat Rick... beings that I was there to see that Track when it came through . I hope to get a cat here at my stomping grounds...handicapped with no snow like a lot of trappers are.

In places where I can't anchor solid I will use a 4-6 foot Popple pole as a drag. Even better on a trail set, cut the top 6 feet out of a balsam or spruce tree and anchor it in the middle. The don't go far dragging that "against the grain" of the boughs.

160 I use old juniper fence posts here for drags on my cat sets. Staple a cable extension on the small end and let the try to pull it against the stubs of limbs the old time fencers cut off int he 30's. I have never had a bobcat make it more than fifty feet with an easy trail to follow. Last year a caught a fifty pound mountain lion kitten and it straight lined my drag for quite a way.
I can't believe that cop put me in the back seat when I clearly called shotgun.

Pulled a fair amount of my traps today but I plan on remaking a few sets but have some new places to set on. Been very quiet all over from what I have been hearing. Your right Scott about being handicapped with no snow. I do like the looks of that set Scott, just hope a kitty thinks so too!
