Try Dan's Hunting Gear (danshuntinggear.com). They make an extremely durable hip boot and waders. I bought my first pair this year and they're the toughest boots I've ever used and I've tried them all.
57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

What’s a good durable hip boot that will last a couple trapping seasons. The last pair of LaCrosse I baught leaked right out of the box. This ice is getting too hard on my toe nails to keep going in bare foot. Did they happen to leak at the seam between the sole and the foot portion, near the ball of the foot? The first pair I bought did that out of the box. I warranteed them and the replacement pair did the same thing. I just siliconed them up and am using them. Not impressed with their quality in that regard.

I use Hodgeman's, with the Camo canvas outer layer, very tough and near impossible to tear or poke a hole in.

Dan's here as well. When store them keep em out of direct sunlight or they will crack.

Never had problems with my lacrosse hip boot either. Got a second pair about 4 years ago and their still great. If any complaint they are a little stiff, but you don't have to worry about them sagging down that's for sure
