..can't I walk steadily on the top of a muddy beaver dam, like I used to?

Why do I have to hold on to trees and bushes to keep from falling off the deep side of the dams?

Why do heavy beavers seem much more heavier than they used to?

I'm too young for this to be happening....I'm 59...

That is the age the wheels start coming off but a bit early looks like better days and worst days ahead. It hit me around 65 but today it not an issue.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I'm having to force myself to slow down...take my time....be deliberate in my footsteps.

I'm not getting near as much done as I used to.

I don't like it.....feel like I'm dragging...wasting time.

I never used to be scared of slipping and falling, but now I am. It hurts worse than it did ten years ago.
If I’m on slippery ground I will crawl on hands and knees rather than walk! I may look stupid but I’m safer

I am 72 and you just have to learn how to land softly. And the beavers get lighter after a couple of weeks.

Quit being a Sheila and fall off the deep already. That will remind your muscles to get with the program and fly right.

I've came so close to doing that past several days that it is very noticeable. I've even Googled recently whether my chest waders would drown me or float me...

Wow, read that first sentence and thought at first you was on this boat we’re on. Can’t even walk down the passageway without hitting each bulkhead.
I’m a few years behind you but no issues yet, other than still a tender hip, but it’s healing. I have noticed bruises take twice as long to go away and cuts last for weeks instead of days now. I know it’s coming and I do find myself thinking about things before doing them now, lol. Not debating on whether to do them or not, just picking the next move more carefully.

Just wait until hit 80... I carry a 3 feet long metal rod with a hook on one end and a circle on the other end. When I am on a dam, in deeper water or rocky bottom, I have 4 or 5 feet stick in my other hand, so I can keep my balance. At almost 83, I can't see it getting any better... I wish I had a third hand sometimes.
