According to sunrise-sunset.com today sunrise is at 08:33:19 and sun set is 05:31:28 giving me 08:23:24 daylight. Tomorrow has the same exact amount of daylight, down to the second, but different sunrise and sunset times. Rise 08:33:49 and sun set is 05:31:58. On the 23rd I will gain 7 seconds. So does every where have the same length days on the 21st and 22nd?

If today and tomorrow are the same length, is it over today or over tomorrow?

Winter officially starts a bit after 9 PM tonight. Today is my 76th birthday. I guess it is fitting for me to be born on the shortest day of the year, sunlight wise!

We won't actually see the sun till about mid January and even then it's just for a few minutes. It's a beautiful thing though!

Happy Birthday. My point is tomorrow is just as short as today, down to the second. I always heard today the 21st was the shortest. Now I need to look and see if two days are the longest.
Victor#0 you are up north in AK.

Update on the 21st of June, it is the longest. It is one second longer than the 20th and three seconds longer than the 22nd.

Here it is typical to get worse after winter solstice. My grandpa always said."The days get colder, as they grow longer."

I was confused by the sunrise time at 8:33 am. Our sunrise time was 7:40 this morning. But if your on the western end of a time zone, it makes a big difference. I looked for a town in western ND ( Alexander )…..sunrise was 8:40 this morning!

I wondered if everywhere was the same. According to that computer site my location is the same. A lot of places do not give time down to the second. Will it be 100% the same next year?

I am 6 miles south of Berthold ND. I am east of Alexander around 100 miles and about 30 north. Both north and south abd east and west would change times for sun rise and sun set.

I gain 51 seconds on the 31st of December. Starting the 2nd of Jan, I will gain a full minute.
