Hi, i'm fairly new to trapping. I was wondering if I could get some recommendations on effective lures for winter rabbit trapping and winter squirrel trapping in Minnesota? Thanks. Have a wonderful rest of your night!

You should check with your game regs first. In many states rabbits are game animals and can be hunted but not trapped, some state might treat squirrels the same way.

You dont need lure for rabbits, just set snares on their runs.
If you want to trap squirrells in winter frozen beaver meat is best bait in a box guarded by a 120.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

BELISLE, his name is BOCO......... BO CO. Baco is his twin brother, you don't hear much out of him.
Boco's probably one of the best trappers on here, just ignore his political commentary. It's way out there.

Can trap both here in Minnesota as long as you don’t go over the daily or possession limit

For squirrels I use peanut butter, seems to pull in every squirrel in the area, lean a short log 4/6 in in diameter against a bigger tree about chest high and smear a big gob of peanut butter on the spot on the tree where it rests and set a 110 on the log

Good to go

AFTER checking your state regulations....corn is great for both rabbits and squirrels. To be safe you might want to use it in a box as Boco described.... to avoid birds.

A half ear of corn should work for the squirrel.

I have a friend who catches rabbits in homemade box traps. He doesn’t use any bait at all during cold wether.

As a kid, I baited my rabbit boxes with pieces of apple.
