NYS Governor Kathy Hochul on Friday signed into law a bill banning wildlife hunting contests. New York gets more oppressive to it's citizens every day !!!  Can't seem to get a link to post on any news stories regarding this topic. walleyed

Well, you'll be in good company walleyed...Oregon's governor signed a similar bill in September. I think there's about 10 states now that have them banned.

I got this from an article about the bill. I would be tempted to run a skunk derby.
The new law makes it unlawful for an individual to organize, sponsor, conduct, promote or participate in any contest, competition, tournament or derby with the objective of taking or hunting wildlife for prizes, inducement or entertainment. Any wildlife killed during these activities become the property of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. She bit off more than she can chew if this includes Fishing Derbys that bring in millions of dollars to this State.She is a true IDIOT.

How about hound and bird dog field trials ? Or is this primarily just about coyote contests ? I bet shes aiming at the squirrel and crow hunting contests we have here.It(she) makes me puke.
