I have a 04 4cyl 5spd with 268,000 miles on it. Anomaly I'm guessing, but this truck doesn't owe me a dime!

I got a 2008 crew cab 5 cylinder with 200K. It has been bullet proof and has had the dog sheet worked out of it. It has had a tough life on the ranch never has it had an easy day. Tire, batterers, belt, one seal and that has been all it has had done to it. I would take it around the US and never blink an eye.
Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime

Not very busy at all. Got 290,000 on mine, always good pickup, had some parts wear out, the one thing they had trouble with alot in 4 cyl. Was cast iron exhaust manifold with cat converter integrated onto manifold , cracking trouble , I'm on 3 Rd one an possibly small crack for months, uncertain. A lil louder on startup until watm up. Metal expands an seals crack ? Uncertain if that what it is or some exhaust valve in emissions is louder on startup. Not cyl head valve, something else

I like GM and Chevrolet, but I have never seen a truck rust away so fast as the Colorado. Good friend is a recycler, he has had two scrap Colorados pull into two pieces winching onto a roll back. Nothing but extreme rust buckets up here in Michigan.
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

Yes I bought a new GMC Canyon AT4. I really love the truck so far and after owning a new Tacoma every other year( sometimes 3 years) since 1982 I would say this is the nicest mid size truck I have ever owned by a long shot. The interior of the GMC absolutely blows away any Tacoma interior I ever had period. Just a much more comfortable truck. Don't get me wrong here-I used and loved my Tacomas! They are excellent trucks. This new GMC is miles ahead of the last generation Tacomas-like not even close-and I have owned a ton of them. The last Tacomas transmission was an absolute turd. Would put the truck on cruise hauling anything and as soon as you would hit a wind or a hill it would kick down and rev like ten bears until I touched the brake pedal to disengage the cruise and then re-set it.Pretty poor design for a truck trans period. Toyota had no answer to it.
All I am saying is the new Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyons are beautiful midsize trucks that are very comfortable to drive-don't give up on them before you have tried or driven in one. This one I own has impressed me so far and I trapped out of it this fall-good solid truck. I wish it had a 6 foot bed but I got around that staying organized back there just fine.

Can you not get a 6 foot bed as an option? That would be a deal killer for me. I have friend that has the 5 cylinder Canyon and he likes it.
