So yesterday morning when I was taking the trash out an immature bald eagle flew in and perched in a big sycamore overlooking the swamp field and stream behind my house. Not an uncommon sighting around here but not an everyday occurrance either. The strange thing is he sat there all day, and is still sitting there this morning, is this normal? We have kept a pretty close eye on him and he has not moved from where he originally landed.

Short answer is it can be especially if it filled itself up on say a dead deer in such circumstances it might sit for a day or more digesting after being stuffed

It might also be sick hard to say without seeing it

Doesn't seem normal. I would say sick "bird flu" or something wrong..

Have a bunch on the lake I live on they do park it for long periods of times but that seems kind of a long time. If it’s gone look under the tree a that will answer the question if it’s sick.

This is probably it. TSA is awfully hard on anyone who carries talons.

We have lots of eagles around here. I have never seen one sitting in one spot for a very long time, other than at a nest.
