I had 2 game cams go belly up took the battery box out and cleaned them up no bad damage just a little tarnish color on the contacts nothing else. Put them back together no luck with neither one zip. One had a cracked screen and one had an off colored light that looked fried.
Wildgame had 3 for $100 so $125 shipped deal. Ive always used Bushnell HD cams but they are over $100 each. The ones I have now I used my Cabela’s points to buy them cheaper or bought them on sale at Natchez.
Looked around the web and found 5 used Bushnell HD cameras on EBay for $100 $125 shipped. Claimed they all work even showed them powered up but it’s a first time seller with zero feedback. Ebay has buyer protection so it should not be a problem. I figure if 3 out of the 5 work like they should I’d be ahead. I’m accustom to the HD format so I’d like to stick with it..
Will see if it’s a deal or not. LOL

As much bad luck as I've had with new cams I wouldn't even think of buying used. Even if they are working fine now, how much life would they have? The ones that I've spent a hundred plus on didn't seem to last much longer than a couple of years. The covert took great pics the first year then the flash quit so now night pics are just black. I actually still use it in an area that I want to monitor daylight movement. Also had a hundred dollar Moultrie that while it still technically takes night pics they are so blury you can't tell much.
Started going cheaper after that and most last just a couple of years before they peter out. Now I'm using the cheapest of the cheap. Cams off of temu. Daytime pics are nice but night is bad. Flash doesn't go out very far. Also I hate the itty bitty TS cards. I need to carry tweezers to get them out of the camera.
The way things are going will probably have no choice but to buy cell cams in the future.

These tasco ones are under rates for the prices bought one for 150, forgot the brand spy cam I think , under up selling it due to all the problems I had with it and used the money to buy more of these. I need to buy more honestly because they aren't bullet proof but buy the time they just plain break I've gotten my money out of them 3x imo

I have several of the cheap $30 tasco cameras. They work ok for scouting. Picture quality is not the best , and wonder if the camera speed is too slow and is missing some deer. After several years they start eating batteries, but still less problematic than more expensive cameras.

I run Spartans (cellular cams) and yeah they’re expensive.
But, for those places I’m just wanting to see what’s using a particular trail, I’ll run those $30 Tasco’s. You can buy a 2 year warranty from Walmart for about $3-4 and trade that sucker in before the 2yr mark and get a brand new camera. To be honest, they really don’t take bad pics. The daytime pics seem to be a little greener than normal and the night time pics seem real bright, but they do the job of letting me know if critters or a particular deer is using a certain trail. You have to understand that down here there’s a trail every 50yds and I can buy a lot of cheap cams vs one expensive cell camera to cover what I need.

I’ve ran the Bushnell cams for years with few problems until now I more then got my monies worth out of them. I ran 8 of them for years i gave one to a buddy and the 2 that died I left out too long my bad. That’s not bad performance for electronics left outside.

I have 25 wildgame cameras of various ages from 1 to 15 years old. I run 20 of them year round. Haven't had any problems with them except one of them gets stuck taking pictures every 30 seconds. Wildwater has a lot of specials in the spring and summer. This last year got 2 for 99 and 2 free ones. I wouldn't trust ebay. I Sold on ebay for 20 years.

Cell cams will be the future no doubt and they are coming down in price every year now. I’ll run my traditional ones to the last one most likely I hate change. LOL If it needs an app or extra services I figure I don’t need it then.

We have the cellular tactacam and they are a lotta fun. Especially getting a text alert at 3 AM and rushing to be the first one to open the app and see what the picture is before your spouse can!

The wife and would race to check the beaver sets as we are rather competitive so I learned to tap one of her feet behind the other one to get there first. Worked every time.
