This piebald made an appearance today in the yard with several other fox squirrels chasing around. Mating season. I can not figure out how he stays alive with no camo fending off hawks, owls and everything else. It is 6 or 7 years from the first time I saw it.

Definitely a fox squirrel lineage according to the tail. Cool squirrel.

If removing guns saves just one life it's worth it. Then if deporting illegals saves one life is that worth it?

We have red fox squirrels here with coal black under belly and neck instead of cream color, there also is a solid cream color fox squirrel here too

Indiana has a very good squirrel population. I remember the years I trapped out there. I was amazed with how many I would see daily while running my lines. A fella could live off them if necessary.

It was my dad's favorite kind of hunting, we would have a contest every time we hunted together. The object was to shoot them in the head with a .22 and not waste any meat. He taught me to clean them while you were letting things calm down in the woods. Carried little baggies to put them in and into a pocket ready for the next one.

I apologize. grin

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

My Dad's too, and mine as well, that's cool. I'd rather squirrel hunt than anything! We'd do the same in between coon. Cool squirrel!!

I've saw black, I've saw white but I've never saw a piebald, what a cool critter.

I never shot an off color one, never wanted to have one mounted and enjoyed seeing them randomly in the woods.
