Had to replace a fuel line tonight on my little ford ranger. It's the truck I been using to run trapline with then go to work. I had a couple rust holes I decided I better patch up while I was at it so I did that. Then I raised the front to make sure everything was tight. To my unfortunate surprise I found that my bottom ball joint is bad on one side and the upper is bad in the other. I will replace all 4. Looked online and found the set of 4 for 40.00. I told the wife that they are probably rattled loose from all the rough mountain roads I've been running while trapping. Then it dawned on me one big beaver won't even pay for my repairs.
"Beaver ain't worth ball joints"

cheaper than a membership at a fitness center

I have caught 4 so far this season. Getting out to set more traps tomorrow.

I got a spot on a property that to the main "road" looks like it was used as bombing practice and the only way to avoid bottoming out on anything less than a 2ft lifted truck is to risk the paint job on the truck. Just got a new to me truck so the few beaver are safe from me, I'll let the game warden who's also trapping it have those

I found a spot with 5 ponds within ¼ mile stretch all with beaver in them but the access rd is just terrible. Like you said bomber practice. They might survive because if I walk the whole way back then down the valley I wouldn't make it to work in the mornings

def. gotta trap for fun cause it don't usually these days. But agree busting up the ride is where I would draw the line.

Been in Mississippi for 15 years and went through3 sets of ball joints. It sucks when it does that nose dive. Thankfully it was never doing highway speeds.
